    Eiffel Tower in the Evening

This painting was created over the span of 3 days. After a busy day I found comfort in my oil paint and canvas. I let my mind roam to the places that I wanted to visit, and since one of my good friends was in Paris at the time of my painting, the Eiffel Tower was on my mind. Painting it allowed me to connect to a dream that I’ve had for a long time, and in a small way it allowed me to experience the trill of actually being right there, in front of it.

Evening time, in my opinion, is the most beautiful time of the day. When the heaven transforms from a deep sky blue to a soft vermillion with dashes of crimson red, it has a way of drawing you in and gently soothing away the stress of the previous day. My goal in this painting is to let everyone that looks at it feel that stress fade away and be replaced by joy.

Building a custom subwoofer enclosure for Jeep Wrangler (TJ) Step by Step

After acquiring my Wrangler about a year ago, I quickly realized that listening to music in it is about as enjoyable as hitting your head against a brick wall – repeatedly. And so I began my search for better sound.

After a while I settled on Scoshe, Scoshe had the best overall sound I could find,  clean highs, powerful mids and surprisingly good bass (and it was cheap!). But the bass was lacking toward the lower end of the spectrum so I decided to install a sub-woofer but to maximize space I had to calculate, design, and build the box myself. It sounds awesome!

But simply building it to factory specs wasn’t enough for me, so I decided to add polyfill and I got a lot more out of the (35-50)Hz range I still have to do some tests to see what volume of polyfill is optimal but overall I’m very happy with the result, sure it’s only 450 Watts Peak, but I dislike loud obnoxious bass, mainly because it drowns out the mids and highs. This arrangement was designed to extend the range of the sound system I already had, and it did a damn good job of that. I wish I could record the sound I hear and let you hear what I do every day, but my audio recording equipment doesn’t have the range that my system does!

I recently acquired this server for $270, which frankly I thought was a steal! If you think about it, you can do a lot of computing with 2 Xeon Quad Cores, but honestly the main reason I bought this server was to try out Microsoft Server 2008 R2 and the new Windows Server 8.

    Here’s the run-down of the specs…

    Rackable 2U
    2x Intel L5420 2.5Ghz Quad Core 12MB
    4x 2GB 667MHz DDR2 ECC (8x Slots 32GB Max)
    Intel S5000PSL
    250 GB HDD (4 Hot-Swap Bays)

I did however replace the insanely loud Delta CPU fans with the quieter b-Blaster 80 fans, somehow b-Blaster 80 fans have higher CFM then the Delta’s at a lower RPMs…
